APPRENTICESHIP PROOGRAM
If you asked what is the single most important factor about a successful wallpaper installation. I would answer with certainty: Experienced Installers.
This is because of wallpaper hanging is art. It is very different from other construction trades. wallpaper hanging takes patience, precision, stamina and relentless pursuit of perfection. A fraction of a millimeter could make a huge difference.
This is why, we consider our employees our greatest assets. We would not be confortable sending an installers to hang wallpaper until we are 100% confident that the installer has undergone and successfully passed all our training stages.
Every new hire spends 2 years as a helper/trainee with a master installer. After 2 years, there is a 1-year during which trainees start installing wallpaper but under the strict supervision of a master installer, who then decides when the apprentice is ready to take on projects on their own and became masters in their own rights.
This is how we have been passing our knowledge to the next generations.

At Shotcount, we respect the environment and we have a mission to chose the most eco-friendly materials and methods.
We use industry state of the art wallpaper eco-friendly adhesives and primers. For most of our adhesive and primers needs we use ROMAN Brand line of green products. This line of products is not only good for the environment, it is also safe around the house because it does not contain any harmful or toxic chemicals.

Hanging wallcovering is not just about gluing it to the wall!
Unlike many wallcovering installers, at Shotcount we employ a highly structured wallcovering install process. We strictly adhere to our traditional method that has proven itself for decades and yields picture perfect results every time.
Often times wall prep takes longer than the hanging of wallcovering itself.
1- Most walls have small imperfections and are not perfectly flat. In fact, wallcovering magnifies flaws in the walls. Wall prep is is the most important step to achieve a picture perfect wall.
2- The goal of wall prepping is to achieve a smooth and perfectly flat surface. Which requires repairing/patching the drywall from any holes, dents and scratches with drywall compound. When compound is dry it is sanded smooth.
3- In case the wall has some texturing, it will cause the textures to show on the wallcovering. To address this, we apply a new layer of plaster to cover the textured areas of the wall. That way the textures will not intrude on the wallcovering.
4- The last step in the prep of the wall is to clean the wall by wiping it down with a vinegar solution to remove any debris and dust.
5- Only after the guidelines mentioned above are completed that the wallcovering installation can begin.
6- Enjoy your picture perfect wall.

One of my first jobs ever was for an elderly woman who wanted a very old wallpaper removed from her wall, cleaned, restored and put back on the wall.
The lady was clearly emotionally attached to her wallpaper and she did not want to replace it. I knew the restoration work was not going to be easy, the end result was not going to be perfect. I did the job anyway (though against my will).
I was not the best looking job I ever done. But it was the greatest job I ever achieved. To see the smile and the sparkles on the lady’s eyes with all the memories her old wallpaper held. The wallpaper stood for a great life. Epic, memorable and a reminder of why we all ultimately do what we do...
