One says that violence must be met with greater violence. When innocent people are attacked, societies defend themselves. Force confronts force. History repeatedly shows this logic: violence creates a demand for justice, retaliation, deterrence, and security. Sometimes force may stop an immediate aggressor—but it does not necessarily eliminate the conditions from which the next act of violence emerges.

The other idea asks a more difficult question: What if love could intervene before violence begins?

The red heart floating toward the destruction is deliberately powerless as a weapon. It cannot shoot down an airplane or undo what happened. Instead, it represents something that must exist much earlier: empathy before hatred becomes ideology, understanding before disagreement becomes dehumanization, and human connection before another person becomes an enemy.

Perhaps violence sometimes has to be confronted.

But the greater human achievement would be creating a world in which there is less violence to confront.

This artwork does not attempt to simplify September 11 or prescribe an answer. It asks a question:

Can violence stop violence—or can only love stop the cycle that creates it?

Fantastic job on a difficult project

Shotcount did a terrific job wallpapering an accent wall high above a staircase in my home. Given its location, the wall was difficult to reach and required a lot of skill and agility to wallpaper. I believe that a lot of companies would have messed this job up -- but Shotcount did a terrific job. I am very pleased and whole heartedly recommend them.

Recommend prepping and priming wall yourself prior to booking if you're interested in this company.  They charge $900 to prep and $500 to prime. I don’t typically write reviews but I was so impressed with this company that I wanted to share my experience and recommend them highly. Ben & Co were extremely responsive from the first inquiry to the final cleanup. We live in an old house and the bathroom walls had many flaws that weren’t discovered until the old wallpaper was removed. Due to the repair, skimming and sanding, the project took an extra day and they were able to juggle their schedule to accommodate us. The technicians were timely, courteous and hard working. The room looks great. The whole experience with Shotcount was seamless (excuse the pun).

 Verified We were very excited to use shotcount... his policies were clear, his estimate based on our photos seemed fair. But when he emailed a docusign document requiring a 50% down-payment before he even walked through the door to measure and confirm the job and cost... unacceptable. He cited that his reason was risk... what risk? A 20-minute drive for a 20-minute visit? We would have gladly paid the 50% while he was here for the measurement and confirmation visit had his final assessment been within an acceptable range of his quote. And we even would have paid $100 prior to the first visit as long as it would have been applied to the cost of the job. But 50%? We walked away.

 Verified We have been through a wallpaper *ordeal* and I am SO glad we found Ben and his team at Shotcount.  We had peel and stick wallpaper to install in our daughter's room--a big space, and a big investment.  We started trying to DIY the install ourselves, but the pattern was pretty tricky and we realized we needed to bring in help.  I gathered quotes from several local companies; some insisted on using their specialized adhesive even though that's not necessary with peel & stick (which we chose specifically because we want to have a lot of flexibility down the road as our daughters get older); others were so difficult to get scheduled or would go long periods of being nonresponsive; and still others quoted us prices much higher than Shotcount's, with fewer offerings/no insurance or guarantee.  I reached out to Ben on a Friday in a last-ditch attempt; within 24 hours we had a technician booked to come out that next Tuesday.  The day of install, the technician arrived right at 9 am.  We had not yet had a chance to remove outlet covers or a curtain rod, but the tech assured us it was no problem and he managed all of that himself.  He worked straight through lunch til about 2 pm, cleaned up everything, and stayed to make sure the install looked ok to us.  We can't believe how perfect the walls look and how quickly he completed it!  This was every penny well spent.  We will absolutely be reaching out to Ben and his team the next time we need wallpaper installed; I can't imagine hiring anyone else after this experience.

02- About Shotcount Wallpaper Company

Shotcount Wallpaper Company provides professional wallpaper and wallcovering-related services, including installation, removal, wall preparation, repairs, consultation, project coordination, and other related services that may be offered from time to time. Information on the website is provided for general informational and marketing purposes and does not by itself create a contract for services.

03- Estimates, Quotes, and Proposals

Any pricing, ranges, examples, promotional pricing, or other cost information displayed on the website is informational unless expressly identified as a binding written proposal. Final pricing may depend on field conditions, measurements, wallcovering type, pattern, material condition, wall preparation, access, ceiling height, installation complexity, travel, scheduling, and other project-specific requirements. A project becomes subject to a service agreement only when the applicable proposal, estimate, work order, or other written agreement is accepted in accordance with its terms.

04- Site Visits, Measurements, and Project Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate project information. Measurements, photographs, drawings, quantities, product information, and descriptions submitted through the website may be used for preliminary estimating. Shotcount may require an on-site inspection, additional photographs, product specifications, or other information before confirming scope, price, scheduling, or installation requirements.

05- Wallcovering Materials

Unless expressly stated in a written agreement, the customer is responsible for ensuring that sufficient wallcovering material is available for the project. Dye-lot variation, printing variation, manufacturing defects, pattern irregularities, dimensional instability, shading, natural-material variation, and other characteristics originating with a wallcovering manufacturer are outside Shotcount’s control. Installation does not constitute a manufacturer’s warranty.

06- Surface and Site Conditions

Successful wallcovering installation depends on suitable wall and site conditions. Hidden defects, moisture, mold, structural movement, defective drywall, incompatible coatings, contamination, previous adhesive, improperly prepared surfaces, or other concealed conditions may require additional work and may affect schedule and cost. Shotcount may suspend work when conditions are unsuitable for proper or safe installation.

07- Scheduling and Access

Scheduling is subject to availability and may depend on receipt of required approvals, deposits, materials, site readiness, and other project requirements. Customers are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area. Delays caused by inaccessible areas, incomplete construction, missing materials, other trades, building restrictions, utilities, weather, or conditions outside Shotcount’s reasonable control may require rescheduling.

08- Deposits, Payments, Cancellations, and Rescheduling

Deposits, payment schedules, cancellation terms, rescheduling charges, and refund eligibility are governed by the specific written proposal, invoice, booking confirmation, or service agreement applicable to the project. Website submission of an inquiry alone does not reserve an installation date unless Shotcount expressly confirms the reservation.

09- Promotions

Promotions, discounts, and special offers may be subject to eligibility requirements, booking periods, service-area limitations, size limitations, exclusions, availability, and other stated conditions. Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotions cannot be combined and have no cash value. Shotcount may correct typographical or pricing errors and may modify or discontinue a promotion where permitted by law.

10- Website Communications

When you submit contact information through the website, you authorize Shotcount to respond to your inquiry using the contact methods you provide. Marketing communications, where applicable, are subject to the consent choices and opt-out mechanisms provided with those communications. Submission of a form does not guarantee acceptance of a project or availability on a particular date.

12- Customer-Submitted Content

If you submit photographs, plans, drawings, messages, specifications, or other materials, you represent that you have the right to provide them for purposes related to your inquiry or project. You grant Shotcount permission to use such materials internally as reasonably necessary to evaluate, quote, coordinate, document, or perform the requested services. Any separate use for advertising or portfolio purposes should be governed by applicable consent or agreement.

13- Third-Party Websites and Services

The website may contain links to third-party websites, social-media platforms, payment processors, scheduling services, manufacturers, designers, or other providers. Shotcount does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, products, or services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies.

14- Website Availability and Accuracy
