Plan the installation around your wallpaper

Pattern repeat, roll width, wall height, and the position of doors and windows all affect the layout. Share the manufacturer, product name, hanging instructions, and room dimensions before ordering or scheduling. We can assess the preparation and quantities with the pattern and room in mind.

During installation, attention goes to layout, pattern matching, seam alignment, and trimming around the room’s details. Material-specific handling matters: the preparation and adhesive should suit both the wall surface and the manufacturer’s requirements.

A sound surface comes first

New wallpaper depends on the condition of the wall. Existing paper, adhesive residue, uneven areas, and repairs may need attention before hanging begins. We assess the surface and discuss the preparation needed for the intended finish, including an appropriate wallpaper primer. If the room already has wallpaper, tell us when you request an estimate.

What to send for an estimate

  • Photos of each wall, including corners, windows, and doors.
  • Wall height and approximate width, plus your project location.
  • A link or photograph identifying the wallpaper and its specifications.
  • Details of existing wallpaper, recent painting, or known surface issues.
  • Your preferred timing and any access or building requirements.

Questions before scheduling

How much wallpaper should I order?

The room’s dimensions are only part of the calculation. Pattern repeat, matching requirements, and trimming affect how much material is needed. Share the product specifications and measurements so quantities can be reviewed before work begins.

Can you work with my designer or contractor?

Yes. Shotcount works with homeowners, designers, and contractors. Include the project contact and the status of other work so wall preparation, material delivery, and installation can be coordinated.

What does installation cost?

The scope depends on the material, wall condition, layout, and access. Send your project details for an estimate tailored to the work instead of relying on a general per-room figure.

See our step-by-step installation process or explore all wallpaper services.

Ready to discuss your room? Request a wallpaper installation estimate or call (888) 948-7468.

Professional wallpaper hanging for different materials

Our wallpaper hangers plan preparation and layout for the product you select. Non-woven, pre-pasted, unpasted, vinyl, and specialty wallcoverings have different handling and adhesive requirements. Send the manufacturer’s installation instructions: paste-the-wall and paste-the-paper methods are not interchangeable for every product.

Can you hang wallpaper on staircase walls?

Yes, subject to a review of the wall height and safe access. Include photographs of the stairwell, landings, railings, and the walls receiving paper so the working arrangement can be included in the estimate.

How do I choose a wallpaper contractor?

Ask how the installer assesses the surface, reviews quantities and pattern repeat, protects the room, and coordinates preparation. Provide the actual product specifications and compare written scopes covering the same work.

Local installation guides

Wallpaper installers serving Northern Virginia

Our Washington DC service area includes Arlington, Alexandria, McLean, Fairfax, Falls Church, Vienna, Great Falls, Reston, and Herndon. We travel to the project location; these service areas do not represent separate Shotcount offices.

Fairfax wallpaper installation

For a Fairfax home renovation, share whether you mean Fairfax City or another Fairfax County address, together with the room dimensions and condition of the walls. If wallpaper is replacing an existing finish, we can discuss wallpaper removal and wall preparation before scheduling installation. Include the sequence of painting, trim, flooring, and other trades so the paper can be installed at the appropriate stage.

Arlington wallpaper installation

For an Arlington apartment, condominium, or house, planning starts with the selected wallpaper and practical access to the room. If your building has elevator reservations, delivery restrictions, permitted work hours, or insurance-document requirements, include them in your inquiry. Photos of corners, doors, and windows help us review pattern placement and trimming before installation.

McLean wallpaper and luxury wallcoverings

For a McLean designer-led interior, send the wallcovering manufacturer, collection, colorway, and hanging instructions. Grasscloth, textiles, scenic panels, and other specialty materials need a layout and preparation plan suited to their construction. Natural materials may show intentional seams or tonal variation; discuss the desired appearance before ordering. Our mural and designer wallpaper installation service covers material-specific planning.

Alexandria wallpaper installation

For an Alexandria room update, tell us whether the walls are plaster, drywall, newly repaired, or already papered. Older or uneven surfaces may need a separate preparation stage before the finish can be installed. Include photographs of trim and any areas of peeling paint or previous repairs; a surface assessment helps define the scope rather than assuming every wall is ready to hang.

Wallpaper installation in Bethesda and suburban Maryland

We serve Bethesda, North Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Rockville, Silver Spring, Kensington, Gaithersburg, Germantown, and surrounding Washington DC-area communities. Include the full project address when requesting an estimate so we can confirm the location and scheduling.

Bethesda wallpaper installation

For a Bethesda installation, share which surfaces you want covered: an accent wall, an entire room, a ceiling, or a custom mural. A mural requires the wall dimensions and panel plan, while a repeating wallpaper also requires the repeat and match specifications. For bathrooms or other moisture-prone spaces, tell us about ventilation and the selected material so suitability can be reviewed against the manufacturer’s instructions.

Residential and commercial projects across the DC metro area

Homeowners can start with wall photographs and a product link. Designers can include finish schedules and elevations. Contractors and property teams can share drawings, wall substrate specifications, access arrangements, and the expected installation sequence. For offices, hospitality interiors, and other business spaces, see our commercial wallcovering installation service.

Explore our wallpaper installation project collection for examples of materials and installation scopes. The collection includes projects in multiple locations; individual project details identify the location where available.

Do you install wallpaper outside Washington DC itself?

Yes. Our local service coverage extends into Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland, including the communities listed above. Send your address even if your town is not listed so we can confirm whether the project fits our service area and schedule.

Can you remove old wallpaper before installing the new material?

We can include removal and preparation in the proposed scope. Existing paper, adhesive, surface damage, and the new wallcovering’s requirements determine the work needed. Share photos before assuming installation can begin immediately.

SHOTCOUNT WALLPAPER COMPANY WEBSITE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Effective date: August 15, 2026

01- Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using the Shotcount Wallpaper Company website, requesting information, submitting a project inquiry, requesting an estimate, communicating with us through website forms, chat, email, telephone, or other website features, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our applicable privacy practices. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

02- About Shotcount Wallpaper Company

Shotcount Wallpaper Company provides professional wallpaper and wallcovering-related services, including installation, removal, wall preparation, repairs, consultation, project coordination, and other related services that may be offered from time to time. Information on the website is provided for general informational and marketing purposes and does not by itself create a contract for services.

03- Estimates, Quotes, and Proposals

Any pricing, ranges, examples, promotional pricing, or other cost information displayed on the website is informational unless expressly identified as a binding written proposal. Final pricing may depend on field conditions, measurements, wallcovering type, pattern, material condition, wall preparation, access, ceiling height, installation complexity, travel, scheduling, and other project-specific requirements. A project becomes subject to a service agreement only when the applicable proposal, estimate, work order, or other written agreement is accepted in accordance with its terms.

04- Site Visits, Measurements, and Project Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate project information. Measurements, photographs, drawings, quantities, product information, and descriptions submitted through the website may be used for preliminary estimating. Shotcount may require an on-site inspection, additional photographs, product specifications, or other information before confirming scope, price, scheduling, or installation requirements.

05- Wallcovering Materials

Unless expressly stated in a written agreement, the customer is responsible for ensuring that sufficient wallcovering material is available for the project. Dye-lot variation, printing variation, manufacturing defects, pattern irregularities, dimensional instability, shading, natural-material variation, and other characteristics originating with a wallcovering manufacturer are outside Shotcount’s control. Installation does not constitute a manufacturer’s warranty.

06- Surface and Site Conditions

Successful wallcovering installation depends on suitable wall and site conditions. Hidden defects, moisture, mold, structural movement, defective drywall, incompatible coatings, contamination, previous adhesive, improperly prepared surfaces, or other concealed conditions may require additional work and may affect schedule and cost. Shotcount may suspend work when conditions are unsuitable for proper or safe installation.

07- Scheduling and Access

Scheduling is subject to availability and may depend on receipt of required approvals, deposits, materials, site readiness, and other project requirements. Customers are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area. Delays caused by inaccessible areas, incomplete construction, missing materials, other trades, building restrictions, utilities, weather, or conditions outside Shotcount’s reasonable control may require rescheduling.

08- Deposits, Payments, Cancellations, and Rescheduling

Deposits, payment schedules, cancellation terms, rescheduling charges, and refund eligibility are governed by the specific written proposal, invoice, booking confirmation, or service agreement applicable to the project. Website submission of an inquiry alone does not reserve an installation date unless Shotcount expressly confirms the reservation.

09- Promotions

Promotions, discounts, and special offers may be subject to eligibility requirements, booking periods, service-area limitations, size limitations, exclusions, availability, and other stated conditions. Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotions cannot be combined and have no cash value. Shotcount may correct typographical or pricing errors and may modify or discontinue a promotion where permitted by law.

10- Website Communications

When you submit contact information through the website, you authorize Shotcount to respond to your inquiry using the contact methods you provide. Marketing communications, where applicable, are subject to the consent choices and opt-out mechanisms provided with those communications. Submission of a form does not guarantee acceptance of a project or availability on a particular date.

11- Website Content and Intellectual Property

The website and its original text, branding, logos, graphics, layouts, photographs, videos, designs, and other content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and may not be copied, reproduced, republished, distributed, modified, or commercially exploited without permission, except as permitted by law. Third-party trademarks and materials remain the property of their respective owners.

12- Customer-Submitted Content

If you submit photographs, plans, drawings, messages, specifications, or other materials, you represent that you have the right to provide them for purposes related to your inquiry or project. You grant Shotcount permission to use such materials internally as reasonably necessary to evaluate, quote, coordinate, document, or perform the requested services. Any separate use for advertising or portfolio purposes should be governed by applicable consent or agreement.

13- Third-Party Websites and Services

The website may contain links to third-party websites, social-media platforms, payment processors, scheduling services, manufacturers, designers, or other providers. Shotcount does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, products, or services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies.

14- Website Availability and Accuracy

Shotcount seeks to keep website information accurate and useful, but does not warrant that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, current, or free of harmful components. Images may appear differently depending on lighting, photography, screens, materials, and site conditions. Website photographs and project examples are illustrative and do not guarantee identical results.

15- Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its informational content are provided on an ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ basis. Shotcount disclaims warranties relating solely to website use except warranties that cannot legally be excluded. Any warranty applicable to contracted installation services will be governed by the written agreement for those services.

16- Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shotcount will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising solely from use of, or inability to use, the website. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Liability relating to contracted services is governed by the applicable written service agreement and controlling law.

17- Prohibited Website Use

You may not misuse the website, interfere with its operation or security, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape or harvest information in violation of law, impersonate another person, submit fraudulent inquiries, infringe intellectual-property rights, or use the website for unlawful purposes.

18- Privacy

Personal information collected through the website should be handled in accordance with Shotcount’s Privacy Policy and applicable law. These Terms should be read together with the website’s Privacy Policy. Where required, cookie or tracking technologies should be addressed through an appropriate cookie notice or consent mechanism.

19- Service Areas and Availability

References to geographic service areas do not guarantee that every project within a listed area will be accepted. Project acceptance may depend on location, scope, schedule, access, material, staffing, and other factors. Shotcount may accept or decline project inquiries at its discretion, subject to applicable law and existing contractual obligations.

20- Changes to These Terms

Shotcount may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms become effective when posted on the website unless a different effective date is stated. Changes do not retroactively alter an existing signed service agreement unless permitted by that agreement and applicable law.

21- Governing Law

These Terms should be interpreted under the laws applicable to the Shotcount entity operating the website and the jurisdiction identified in the company’s final legal review, without giving effect to conflict-of-law principles where legally permissible. Because Shotcount may serve customers in multiple jurisdictions, this clause should be confirmed by qualified counsel before publication.
